My wife and I were standing in line at the checkout stand when the women in front of us said something about how hard it was to love someone. Then I said to my wife, "There ain't no shortcut to love". Then realized that would be a great song title. When we got home I wrote the song in short order.

It starts out happy and playful all day then one day arguing about
something you say then ‘bout money, your friend the job and the bed.

raising the kids. When that old empty nest seeks unrest in the home.

you held hands. Taking comfort in the com-fort of love.
